Role/Title: Graffiti Artist and Emcee
Background:Born in Los Angeles in the mid-1970s to Central and South American parents, Dover Peterson was immersed in a culturally rich environment from an early age. Growing up on the West Coast near the ocean, he experienced skate and surf culture firsthand, developing a passion for skate graphics and street culture. In the mid-1980s, Dover discovered Hip Hop, engaging in breaking, popping, graffiti writing, and emceeing. Mentored by his graffiti partner, Fearo, he co-founded Kosmic Four and joined the Orange County Hip Hop Coalition, marking the beginning of his ongoing journey in Hip Hop.
Involvement with Calafia Zuluz:As an active member of the Calafia Zuluz, Dover contributes his extensive experience in graffiti art and emceeing to the chapter's initiatives. His commitment to preserving and promoting Hip Hop culture aligns with the organization's mission to serve and uplift communities through art and education.
Notable Achievements:
- Artistic Collaborations: Co-created Vanguard with Yota One, continuing to produce tracks and perform.
- Graffiti Crews: Member of several prominent Los Angeles graffiti crews, collaborating with esteemed artists and refining his skills.
- Relocation to New York: Moved to New York in 2003, painting alongside local legends and experiencing Hip Hop's foundational sites.
- Artistic Style: Focuses on classic and traditional style writing, emphasizing font abstraction to convey emotion and vitality.
